Casavant Opus 1130 | St. John Cantius Church | Chicago, Illinois

Casavant Opus 1130 (four manuals, 57 ranks), rescued from the shuttered St. James United Methodist Church in Hyde Park, has been restored and installed at St. John Cantius Church, Chicago. The project was undertaken as a joint effort of Casavant and JL Weiler, Inc. Built in 1926, the organ was a favorite of the noted composer and organist Marcel Dupre. The restoration was completed in time for the dedication on October 20, 2013. We at JL Weiler, Inc. are strong advocates of the relocation and museum-quality restoration of quality heritage instruments into spaces new and old.
